Elsa and Stanley track down the twins, who are living in a motel. They tell the girls a mob killed Ethel but they have a safe place for them. Stanley also arranges for Dr. Sugar to surgically separate them. Bette is convinced that only one of them can survive. Jimmy's drunken binge continues and he's unable to perform for the local Tupperware ladies. They throw him out. Dandy visits Maggie for a reading and takes her advice to heart. He visits the local Tupperware ladies, arriving after Jimmy has left. He leaves nothing behind. Regina soon after shows up at Dandy's door with a policeman but Dandy knows just how to deal with that. Dell is still missing his friend Andrew but someone offers to step into the void in his life. Dell has another solution. One of the freaks tells Jimmy she's in love with him. At the show Jimmy confronts Elsa about the twins but she gets help from an unexpected source. She also learns there is price to pay for that support. Dell goes on a rampage after he can't find Andy but Stanley blackmails him over his sexuality. He tells Dell that killing one of the freaks is the price for his silence. He makes a few false starts but eventually meets the price demanded. Desiree and Ethel find that the doctor has committed suicide and learn why. Elsa has begun practicing her old knife throwing act hoping to use it on on Stanley's promised TV show. When she learns that her lover Paul has a girlfriend, Penny, she goes berserk telling all the freaks that one of them must be her target on the wheel as a show of trust. At Dandy's house, the twins are still bickering with Bette enamored of their young host and Dot hating the sight of him. Dandy dangles the possibility of having them surgically separated. Things aren't improving at the box office for Elsa. With the sudden rash of murders, people are afraid to go out at night and the town has announced a nighttime curfew until the killer is caught. Gloria Mott and her son Dandy attend a show but are not impressed. Ethel Darling, the bearded lady, is upset to see that her ex-husband Dell Toledo and his current wife Desiree Dupree arrive looking for work. Elsa takes them on and decides to let Dell run things. Jimmy decides to get rid of Dell by framing him for the murder of a police detective but it all goes horribly wrong. In Jupiter, Florida in 1951 Elsa Mars rents a farmer's field and sets up the tents for her circus freakshow. She's always on the lookout for new acts and visits the Tattler sisters, Bette and Dot, who are hospitalized after the local milkman finds their mother dead on her kitchen floor. The sisters are perfect for Elsa's show - they are Siamese twins with two heads sharing one body. Elsa sees them as her new headliners. Other acts include Ethel Darling, the bearded lady and her son Jimmy, the Lobster Boy. They group is clearly not welcome in the community and few people are coming to their nightly show.
